Assassin's Creed Center | Noticias, videos y sorteos de la saga Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed Valhalla: La Saga de Geirmund es la duodécima novela de la saga, escrita por Matthew J. Kirby y editada en España por Minotauro Games, hace las veces de complemento del videojuego del mismo nombre, ocurriendo en la misma época y lugar pero con otros protagonistas, otro ejemplo de la tremenda transmedia que se realiza en la saga con novelas, comics, película, videojuegos, cortometrajes o, como recientemente se ha sabido, series. El argumento se centra en Geirmund Hel-Hide, el mítico vikingo que llegó a ser rey de Islandia, de padre nórdico y madre siberiana, con rasgos de su madre, con la piel oscura y los ojos rasgados. La novela se entra en las inquietudes de un joven Geirmund que, harto de la pausada vida de su padre, rey de Rogaland, quiere partir a conquistar Inglaterra con otros vikingos, tras su partida, el lector será partícipe de todas las vicisitudes que le acontecen tanto en su viaje como en Inglaterra y cómo sus actos le van dando la reputación suficiente para que muchos guerreros quieran jurarle lealtad y seguirle a sus muchas batallas. Los fans de la franquicia verán que Eivor, la protagonista del videojuego, hace acto de presencia en varias ocasiones, también se hará mención a las sociedades secretas y extraños artefactos con poderes típicos de la saga, pero sin entrar mucho en detalle. La narrativa de la novela es en tercera persona, con descripciones detalladas de los escenarios y acciones o combates, pero sin llegar al exceso. Cabe mencionar la documentación de la cultura vikinga del autor, que tanto en los diálogos como en los pensamientos, como rituales y nombres, son muy acertados. La lectura se hace fácil y rápida por lo frenético de los acontecimientos, como buena historia vikinga, siempre hacia una nueva batalla. La traducción es perfecta, y como este libro no contiene terminología habitual de la saga, salvo ciertas referencias a las sociedades secretas y sus artefactos, se ha evitado la asignatura pendiente en la traducción de las novelas. Por último, el libro se presenta en tapa blanda con una imagen espectacular en la portada del artista surcoreano Kim Jung Gi, que en el siguiente video presenta cómo se hizo. https://youtu.be/Ex8CfcDJ_zs En conclusión, Assassin's Creed Valhalla: La Saga de Geirmund es una novela de aventuras vikingas, que bien nos recordará a las famosas series Vikings o The Last Kingdom, donde hay pocos momentos de suspiro y la acción está siempre presente, cualquier lector de novelas de aventuras le encantará. Para los fans de la franquicia, les agradará la relación del Geirmund con Eivor y la aparición de los dioses y sus artefactos, que para un lector normal no tendrá demasiada relevancia pero un jugador de los videojuegos sabrá relacionarlos y será de su agrado. El libro de El Arte de Assassin's Creed Valhalla ha sido lanzado por la Editorial Minotauro hoy 24 de Noviembre, un libro que recopila múltiples imágenes de concept art del juego donde podemos ver diseños y bocetos iniciales de el último juego de Ubisoft. Este libro, como su nombre indica, es principalmente de imágenes, por lo que el contenido literario es escaso. Aun así, la mayoría de las imágenes son explicadas además de haber introducciones que ahondan algo en el contenido del juego. Cabe mencionar que algunas imágenes pueden contener spoilers del videojuego por lo que recomendamos terminarlo en primer lugar antes de disfrutar de este libro. El libro se presenta con una cubierta en cartoné con el protagonista femenino del juego en la portada y el masculino en la contraportada. Se puede encontrar en librerías al precio de 29.95€.
